Animal Management Centre Education Tours

We offer education tours of our Animal Management Centre for schools, home education groups and other groups including Beavers, Rainbows, Scouts and Guides. Included in the tours are:

  • Safety Introduction
  • The Arid Biome; housing species such as Cuban iguana, tortoises, three banded armadillo and Von der Decken’s hornbills…
  • The Tropical Biome; housing species such as coatis, black throated monitor lizard, forest dragons, tree frogs and turtles…
  • Nocturnal Room; housing species such as; sugar gliders…
  • Husbandry Room; housing a wide selection of birds and reptiles including corn snakes, royal pythons, tortoises and fish…
  • Visits to the farm and lambing unit can be arranged (dependent on time of year)
  • We aim to educate visitors on subjects such as conservation, breeding projects and bio-diversity.

Terms & Conditions

  • You MUST pre-book your tour
  • Groups must be accompanied by at least 2 adults (over the age of 18 years)
  • Maximum numbers are 25 visitors per tour (unless authorised by the Commercial Manager)
  • Footwear needs to be sturdy (ie trainers) – strictly NO open toe sandals or flip flops
  • Car parking is on site and is free of charge
  • We reserve the right to cancel a booking in any unforeseen circumstances that may arise (a full refund will be given)
  • We can’t guarantee handling and feeding on all our tours but we will always aim to include some on each tour
  • Animal welfare is extremely important to us and if any visitors put any of our animals at risk then we will politely ask them to leave the Centre.

Thanks to you all for putting on our visit, which served well in helping our Cubs achieve their Animal Carer badge. They all really enjoyed being able to see and handle so many different kinds of animals in different habitats.

Thank you so much for organising our last minute trip to the Animal Management Centre. It was amazing and the Rainbows had a fantastic time. They were fascinated by the unusual species of animals we saw and our guide was great with them.
